I got my red S2000 on Saturday and now have 325 miles on it. I should be in VTEC land by the weekend and I hear it's going to sunny and 70 degrees. Wirejock, go get your finders fee from Frank Kent Honda. My thoughts so far, the lights light up every single thing on the road and yes they do bounce all over the place. So far, no angry responses. I can't believe I have it in the garage.

Congrats, Fiend! Bought mine from them a few weeks ago (same day wirejock picked his up). Was your's dealer-transplant as well? (as in they bought it from another dealership and had it driven to their location) If so, it seems that they're buying up any S2000s they can get their hands on. Haven't had any trouble with mine so far (looks around for some wood to knock on). I've enjoyed every single minute in it so far. Who would have thought that freeway U-turn lanes could be so much fun? On a slightly related subject, anyone know any good roads in the Dallas-Ft Worth area with some nice low-speed twisties? (Foghorn-Leghorn comes to mind ... "She's like the highway between Dallas and Ft-Worth ... no curves")

To give you an idea of what this car can do to you ... I was driving home last night, when I passed a clover-leaf intersection. Absolutely no *normal* reason to do anything but blow through it. But then the thought occurred to me ... kick-ass turning performance ... *four* tight loops ... and I took the exit... <G> 40mph+ the entire way =)

Hey Fiend, congratulations!!! I think I left you a VM yesterday by coincidence

Anyway, I got a call from Frank Kent today. They had a guy back out on his silver/black, and I am next on the list for the same color, so I got the first option to get it 3 weeks early!!! It is already in the lot, even! 9 miles and #4031(I think, left the # at work)

The catch is, I have to go up tomorrow to Ft. Worth and buy it (before the end of the month). I really hope this wire transfer will make it in time.

Unrelated question, is it possible for the dealer to verify a personal check if the bank is closed (like 7PM)? I prefer to not get a cashiers check if I don't have to.

Are you Austin folks still meeting on Friday evenings? If so I may show up with a new silver/black!

Joseph

Ooops. Did I vote for Buchanan? I meant to vote for the invisible man, Al Gore.

Thanks guys. So that was you Rasputin314, who called me. Like I said, it was the most painless car buying experience. I did pay my deposit with a personal check. It was around 4:30p.m. on Saturday and I don't think the bank was open to verify it. I got my loan through Austin Telco. The interest rate right now is 6.5% with them for 2000 and 2001 models. Good luck!

Hoof, I know what you mean about turnarounds taking on a whole new purpose.

Ahhh, Austin Telco, I got my loan through them at the end of Nov for 7.5%, which I thought was good - 6.5% - nice!

Hope to see you around Ausin soon!

p.s. - its time to change that sig from "almost"!

Geez! How many S2k's are in Austin now. We may have to set you all up with your own S2000Online server!

Congrats on the early STOOK visit!

Too many in Austin now! I'm going to sell mine and get a....Ferrari! Not too many of those around. So make your donations, quickly so I can get it!

btw, as far as stats go - L.A. has the most Miatas, but Austin has the most Miatas per capita. <g> Some of us, like Tex and myself, have been converted/upgraded to the S2000 from the Miata.
