I finally got one!
I have been lurking for a while now and seldom posting as there is little I can really say about the S2k. That all changed today though! I picked up a silver 2007 with 66k miles all stock for...
Wait for it....
$15k!
The previous owner really loved it and wanted to make sure he sold it to some one as passionate about it as he was. I convinced him by showing him where the secret compartment was, where the fuel flap release was located and by not hesitating when it came to finding the oil dipstick. We also shared a laugh about the issue with the spring spacers. He included all the usual, stuff and an extra manual (same size as a Hanes Manual), cleaner for the soft top, seatlocks and seatlock key, K&N filter and filter cleaner.
I had to drive to Houston from Dallas to pick it, which gave me plenty of time to get a feel for it when I drove it back home. I am amazed. I have migrated my way up the Honda food chain starting with a 92 civic cx hatch, then a 94 Delsol SI VTEC, then a 97 Prelude. and they absolutely do not compare. I love the ergonomics, the suspension, the handling, the engine, the raucous sound when redlining it. it is just an all around great little car. It is a little loud cruising at 75 down the highway, but the stock stereo is good enough to make up for all the wind and tire noise. Also, it is quite comfortable even after a 4 hour drive. I am so happy to finally have one after lusting after them for the past 4 years.
I will post some pictures when I get a chance.
So, how did I do?

Pretty good I would say. Congratulations and welcome to the"club". Now to complete things properly for your AP2 you might want to check out a set of Liners to keep all the road crud out of the back end. The Group Buy which I ran in the spring is over now but I still have some of the original production run that have not been spoken for with availability of the the first run at the end of August or early in September. If interested please send me an email to HS2K.RLS@gmail.com to secure a Kit and include ALL the information requested for the Group Buy (see the Modification and Parts Forum). FYI the pricing of the Kits ended up at $350 CAD following the Group Buy. Hope to hear from you.

My drive home took ~1,000 miles and I had no complaints regarding comfort. I've taken several 3,000+ mile road trips (about to go on another in a few weeks) and have spent up to 17 hours in the S with no complaints other than what you'd expect after spending 17 hours on the road. There are threads with people complaining about comfort but, IIRC, most of them have had back problems or other issues.
Congrats
I was in the same situation 4 years ago. Rode in one in 2003, fell in love. Started saving up a little. The last 2 years stopped going out and put all of my money made to save for it. 4 years later(2007) was ready to buy one. Bought it in Dec. 6 of '07 and was in love once more. Just hit 60K yesterday and all except the first 250 miles are all mine(didn't have my color in town so they had to drive it down from mid CA). Not too many people can say they own their "dream car", although I can.
(warning: The mod bug is contagious)

Also as you have an 06+ I have to recommend you get a Flashpro or at least a reflash from Hondata depending on what you're going to do with the car. Even the "stock tuned" flash makes a world of difference in these cars and their day-to-day driveability.

BTW, what is the significance of "sixth time?"
I looked at 5 other s2000's before getting one. I could not quite "go all the way" though due to money, condition of the car or lack of history on the vehicle.
Dang it, I am going to have to go easy on the mods. I can see this getting really expensive. I am happy with how the car is now. Maybe later, after a few paychecks it will be time to upgrade the stereo and do a re-flash. In the mean time, it is plenty exciting. So glad I got one.

Congrats from a fellow DFW owner! I picked mine up about 2 months ago and have been enjoying every mile since. It's not my daily, but it gets enough road time on the weekends and in the evenings for small errands/dinner plans, etc.
Hope you enjoy it and believe me, the cost to mod is strenuous on the paycheck. Probably the biggest reason I don't have more things done is because my bank account can't handle it haha. Saving for a flashpro, oem front lip, and coilovers. It's going to be a long year til I can afford all that.

Congrats - I picked up mine a few weeks ago. Very similar to yours; 68K miles, all stock, owner who took great care of the car, etc. I am going to order a K&N FIPK intkae for it and call it a day. Want the intake more for the sound than anything else.
