Please re-read the post. What is the first few sentences of the post said? I was merely advicing that individual to get opinions from both the ITR camp and the Stook camp. The reason the I moved the thread here is because there are people here with more/Extreme experiences with the Stook than i do such as (GTRpowered,2x6,greg.. ect...). I didn't share any my experiences because i'm basically got none or very little. There's only 1500miles on my Stook. What experience can i get out of that (Can't go fast in chicago). The car is not 100% smooth(the S will do a little better at 3K+miles)(not handling wise). I got no track times with the S/I drove the ITR before, but how can you know a care and then compare it for just a cruz? HOw many people owned an ITR truly know the S. Unless you're a miracle driver, one lap and you know it all. You're claming that I insulted the individual financialy. My intention got nothing to do with his $$. I was just questioning him wether he chosen the ITR because of its abilities/potential or because of his problem with distributing money. So next time make sure you know what a person intention is before accusing them.
P.S. All of these are my own opinions...I don't want to ofends anyone/and hope that i didn't.

For the S2000 experts... I think it'd be good if YoungS2K would invite the Chui guy to discuss this.
I totally understand why someone would want to compare two cars that are apparently different. They want to choose between the two. Simple as that.

no worries man....you did not offend me at all...and FWIW I was not trying to accuse you of anything just stating my perspective that it was interesting to see that ya didn't post a link offering to let those other folks looking for info the opportunity to learn from more experineced folks here....especially since ya said that was your intent....anyways...
sorry if ya thought I was accusing but you seemed a little harsh in your reponse to some folks who didn't seem like they were trying to do anything but get some more info/opinons from some credible sources...
and I thought that was tooo bad
here's your post with some highlights of things ya said that seemd harsh IMHO...

I'd get the Type-R because it has a trunk. I guess it all boils down to your priorities, really. I got my Type-R because I needed something practical that I could drive to and from work, go get groceries, take the dog places in, and basically serve as my all around beater car. I also needed something that could be called upon to kick ass when needed. But don't expect the ITR to kick TOO much ass -- they're not THAT fast.*

It can KICK the ITR can it?...

Easy there champ he said nothing about the ITR kicking the Stook...

I agree with ya 100% dude...only thing is that means you're in the same boat as am I...regarding limited experience with both cars...

If you can say that the ITR cost around 10G lesser than the S, LOOK AT THE SPECS FOR BOTH CAR (the S is much more appealing isn't it?). But compare the pricing from the S and the BoxterS. The BoxterS cost 10G+ more than the S but LOOK AT THE SPEc FOR BOTH CARS. (pretty close huh?)...."
take care all....
ps...youngS2k...vtec's got the right idea...invite those folks looking for advice/feedback over....I'm sure they would appreciate your kind gesture going out of your way to assist them in their purchasing endeavors....and for being NICE, eh?...

Scot,
I'm on Kumho Ecsta 712s. The RE-730s are a better tire! I don't know how you got 8K miles, mine were gone in 4 months!
We're considering a new set of stock wheels and Kumho DOTs. I can still win AS, and am still the fastest on street tires, but the others are getting close! There was another S2000 out and with his S-02s he was 3-4 seconds behind me, but he's sure to improve his driving skills, and he's got me beat on tires.
I know you hate your 730s, so DONT go to Kumho 712s! You'll hate them more.

Thanx, Black Pearl. I could not agree with you more. My initial post - which was conspicuously omitted by, "YoungS2K" is as follows:
"Both are quick and both are fun. The ITR is more uncompromising [which I like] and more "ready to race" than the S2K. One is $7k list price higher and more like $12 to $15k more expensive - at least in ther Detroit Metro Area - and is RWD. There are pros and cons galore with both cars. There is practicality - if you can say that with a straight face - with the ITR with the rear seats and rear hatch. I like the stripped interior and all the noise, but that is me. The S2K is more refined, but it is also quicker. Yes, females will look at the S2k as the ITR is all hardcore boy racer. Just like I wish it to be. So the choice is yours... I hope this helps.
P.S.
I own a '00 ITR and I've put about 200 combined miles on three S2Ks. The S2K is quicker and faster and the gear shift travel is less. The steering wheel is better, but the steering is kinda vague. If the S2K were a proper coupe and stripped of soundproofing like my ITR I would not have hesitated to purchase it..."
Yes, the ITR has a stiffer body shell. Many cars do. The ITR with the optional rear strut tower brace has a body torsion that is slightly stiffer than the S2K. Isn't Body Modal Analysis neat?
I have the F20C SAE Technical Paper, by the way, [Paper #2000-01-0670, Phone # (724) 776-4841] and their isn't any mention of the engine being hand-built, though it is possible that some assembly procedures are. But again, no mention in the literature. There is more advanced cylinder bore material, more compact cylinder head and revised VTEC system on the F20C as compared to the B18C5.
Beig, both engines have forged pistons, crankshaft and connecting rods [all fillet radiused and shot peened as well] and both also have the crystallized lead coated surfaces on the main bearings. just like the 3.5L V-12 Formula One engines of not-too-long ago.
And no, Jason, I don't need a clue nor do I want an S2000. If I had wanted one I would have had one. As nice as it is - and it is very nice - I am not a proponent of convertibles. Period. As I stated in my earlier post each individual has his biases...
You are correct, Red_s2k, that it is easier to drive the ITR on limit than the S2K which is why I stated that I could do 90% of what an equally talented driver in an S2K can do - for $10K to $20K less. That, to me, is value.
Yes, YoungS2K, I have had the S2000 on the Ford Dearborn Hanlding Track and I've autocrossed two of them, so it appears that I may have more experience than YOU currently do.
BTW, he chose the S2000 as he wanted something that would "pull a lot of women." His words not mine.

I agree w/ all of you guys. I still have both; in process of doing some heavy duty mod on my '98 Type R. Haven't raced either cars yet but plan to this spring. Just joined SCCA and plan to do Autox/Solo. Plan to go to driving school this early spring - any one have a good one or good experience school to recommend?
I've tried to post this on the ITR web-board but for some reason it wouldn't show up..
******Chui + other members of the ITR board:
I would like to invite you guys to click on the this link [link]http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1353[/link] to the S2K web-board and have a better discussion about this topics. My knowlege of these two cars is limited so it'll be better if we all have a open discussion about this.
Monocoque-it's very beneficial for you if you can join this discussion.*****
Hey thanks for coming....
