I got ripped off by TopNotch
I ordered a Weathershield car cover from Topnotch before they went belly-up. I never received it. So I called Covercraft. The person I talked to said all the orders from TopNotch were canceled. I then looked up the owner of TopNotch and called him. He apologized and said he would get me the cover or the money very soon. That was over a 2 months. I feel screwed. Anyone have any suggestions for me ?
Thanks

Wasn't Topnotch a sponsor here once? I guess we're not safe here either. I don't know what you can do to get your money back but maybe you could print the name of the guy who was Topnotch so that if he ever comes back here or anywhere else with another company, we'll know about. And also give us another heads up if you discover him again. Sorry you lost your money. That's one of my greatest fears about buying stuff over the Internet.
I'd try and work it out with the guy from TopNotch and then if no luck you can always reverse the transaction with your CC provider. Make sure he is NOT sending it though before you choose this method or you could find yourself in trouble.
Muz,
I agree. It pains me to write something bad about this guy. He's very nice. I also bought a Bra from him. No probs. He always answered any questions I had. But I've been waiting 3 months for my Car Cover. He's nice when I called about it, but he's not doing anything about it. When I ordered the cover it was to be 2 weeks, not 3 months. I'm sick of waiting.
Thanks for the replies.

Well, it's being almost been resolved. I talked to Dave from TopNotch earlier today. He said "The company is gone and there is nothing I can do for you. Just get the money form you CC company"(a big change since the first time I called him). I asked why he had not called me. He said that someone was supposed to call me but maybe they did not. I am disputing the charge now and should get my money back. Hopefully it will all go well.
I noticed that topnotch was gone as a sponsor, but didn't realize that they had gone belly up. I bought a cockpit cover from them and had some really good service.
Glad that you're getting your money back. Too bad for topnotch.

Contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. They will give you an immediate credit, with the stipulation that you have to send in a signed report of sorts (they send you all of the paperwork to do it), and from there the credit will be permanent. And for some strange reason the cover reaches you, tell them, and they'll take care of it accordingly, or if a credit is issued, they will send you a notice that the credit was permanently issued. Nothing to worry about.
Except for the debt that people accrue, credit cards gives you great leverage. I'd contact your card company immediately. 2 month is a hellified long time to wait. 1 month is too, especially when they bill you and you receive nothing. Let "the man" settle it. it's just business.
