today i turned my car on and the malfunction indicator lamp came on.... i havent pumped gas in about a week, so i pretty sure it isn't the gas not being tight enough...... i have no idea whats up....... on top of that i have clicking going on the passenger convertible hinge and a suspension noises when i get out of the car and sometimes down the drive way, its like a squeak, squeak noise.... and also when i turn the steering wheel all the way i can hear noises coming from it............. i havent even had the car for 4 months....... i don't like taking my car into the dealer and none of the honda dealers are willing to give me a loaner, but just a shuttle on way... i mean how am i suppose to go to work or even get back.... anyone know what the engine light could be?

You're going to have to bite the bullet and take your car to the dealership.

Courtesy shuttles at dealerships I've dealt with have always dropped me off where I need to be (work or home) and picked me back up when my car is ready.

Good luck.

If its under warranty and the problem is serious ( sounds like you got a serious one ) I would take it to the dealer only so the warranty doesnt gets voided. And if its a big problem and doesn't get fixed you're entitled to the lemon law and get a new one.

In a nutshell, under the lemon law here in California, the car has to go in for the same repair more than 4 times before it is applied. This must occur within 12 months after purchase date or 12,000 miles.

CA Civil Code Section 1793.22 (Tanner Consumer Protection Act)
1793.22.
This section shall be known and may be cited as the Tanner Consumer Protection Act.

It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been made to conform a new motor vehicle to the applicable express warranties if, within one year from delivery to the buyer or 12,000 miles on the odometer of the vehicle, whichever occurs first, either

the same nonconformity has been subject to repair four or more times by the manufacturer or its agents and the buyer has at least once directly notified the manufacturer of the need for the repair of the nonconformity or

the vehicle is out of service by reason of repair of nonconformities by the manufacturer or its agents for a cumulative total of more than 30 calendar days since delivery of the vehicle to the buyer. The 30-day limit shall be extended only if repairs cannot be performed due to conditions beyond the control of the manufacturer or its agents. The buyer shall be required to directly notify the manufacturer pursuant to paragraph (1) only if the manufacturer has clearly and conspicuously disclosed to the buyer, with the warranty or the owner's manual, the provisions of this section and that of subdivision (d) of Section 1793.2, including the requirement that the buyer must notify the manufacturer directly pursuant to paragraph (1). This presumption shall be a rebuttable presumption affecting the burden of proof, and it may be asserted by the buyer in any civil action, including an action in small claims court, or other formal or informal proceeding.

I think he meant, fine to wait but you can come in if you want to. I haven't heard of a dealer that would push back the date if there was a problem with the car. Screw 'em and just take it in service. Im sure if its a minore problem they will fix it in no time.

How many miles do you have? Did all these problems start at once or been a problem for some time?

The squeak squeak down the driveway might be the hood catch as I've had that problem.
If you press down on the corner of the hood and you get a squeak then thats it. Just lubricate the catch.

If the maintenance light is on though you really need to take it to the dealer.

It's worth it to look under the car and see if they removed the spring spacers. Still seems to be plenty of those left in yet and could be a cause of squeaks.

Have you tried retightening the gas cap? It's possible that it took this long to appear.

There were even a couple of people that had reported that the "clutch" inside the gas cap did not provide enough torque before breaking free, so even though they got their three clicks, the cap was not on tight enough. A replacement cap was an easy fix (at the dealer's expense.)
