Default I have completed the first step towards my S2000

Got permission from the wife.

Next step, sell my Acura 1.7 EL and get a winter beater. Then it's time...

I hear the best time to buy a convertible is in January

Ok take some advice, run to the dealer and buy it be4 she changes her mind

She might change her mind
then you argue, then you make up thinking everything is ok
Then she changes her mind again <WTF??>, you argue then you make up think all is ok. You will do this until you buy the car

After you buy the car and both relax, then she likes the car more than you do and wonders what took you so long to buy it.

So save yourself some grief and buy the car.

Yay for supportive wives! Mine knew how much it meant to me and let me get one.

This was back in 2002... test drove MR2 and used Z3s... she said "They're not fast enough... you'll be sorry. Just get the S2000."

I understand how this works, in reverse. I wanted the S2000 in December of 2000 but finally got permission from Thee Husband in March of 2001, for a Silverstone. Now I'm on number two, having just bought a 2005 Suzuka Blue on Nov. 6th, 2004. Ya gotta work with spouses. BTW, he's keeping the '01 Silverstone, now that I finally got him hooked.

Yep, mentioned to my wife how nice it would be that our first trip in the S2k would be to the hills of Austin and do some camping and some canyon running (of course I just mentioned camping to her, canyon running was what I was thinking of)

You have a 1.7 EL. Man, I never see them in the US. The only one I have ever seen in person was in Georgia. I would love to get my hands on one of those!

She was really sweet about it, in her words "If it make you happy, it well worth it".

I'm one of the few that really like the old style better. Probably looking at a 2002-2003. Found one in Canada that interests me and one in Salt Lake City.

With the Canadian $ where it is right now, the US cars are looking pretty good.

The EL's are nice. If anyone wants to buy it, it's $19,900. It's a premium model, with the leather seats, sunroof, etc. I'll be listing it on here as soon as I get it cleaned up. They're pretty reelable too.
