Default I have a "wanting a new car" problem ugh

I will start off by saying I am extremely biased to Honda. I absolutely love their vehicles. I'm comfortable working on them, driving them, modifying them to my taste, etc. I am on my 2nd S2000. My first was a 2003 Berlina Black and although I loved it at the time, I began noticing I bought it too fast without looking at its flaws. The paint wasn't in great condition it had high miles and had quite a few dents in it. I keep my cars spotless. I'm the guy that parks far away and alone in parking lots. I stare at my car as I walk away, I love tinkering with them, putting bodykits on, lowering, etc.

So I had a 2008 Civic SI and before this car, I had never kept a car longer than 2 years. I had the CIVIC SI for 5 years and it was virtually a few months from being paid off. I searched for another S2000 because I always wanted another and told myself I'd take my time. I finally found the perfect one. 2007, NFR with only 15,000 miles. I drove 4 hours to buy it. It's flawless to me. Paint is amazing, I keep it in the garage, there are no dents or scratches. It now has 27,000 miles. In 9 months I've put 12,000 miles on it. My problem is my friend just bought a new Honda Accord. Ugh. I drove it with her and she's all excited, naturally. Now I have the new car itch. I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my s2000 but at the same time, I sit and think....I want a more comfortable car, I want something with more room, with more technology, bla bla bla. Now don't kill me when I say that because I'll say this and then when I see my car and get back in it and drive this beautiful beast, I fall in love all over again.

There in lies my problem. I would regret getting rid of it but at the same time I can't afford 2 vehicles lol. I'm sure everyone goes through the phase of, do I sell my S2000? Some do but then others snap out of it and say HELL NO. I'm more in the hell no camp because I freaking love my S2000 but man I get new car envy, especially with those new Honda's. I love the Accord Coupe V6 MT. Damn thing is amazing and that new car smell, omg lol.

Idk, maybe I'm stupid, maybe I'm not. I just have a Honda problem and I need help lol.

In 18 months your gonna have a so what it's just another Accord that you'll owe 20 grand on.

Or you could have your soon to be classic and close to irreplaceable S2000. With probably no debt.

Easy call, you must be 25. I used to be you. I've wasted more money on "new" cars than anything in my life. At 39, I want my S2000. But at 39 I can afford a 2nd car so my S isn't my DD

I agree and understand what you're saying. I'm actually 31. Don't worry, I don't take offense to the 25 part haha. I've just always had a problem with wanting the next "generation" Honda. It's definitely a flaw of mine but I love the beauty of these machines. I do figure it's probably because I research stuff too much on the Internet and go to LA LA land thinking about things more than I should. I'm sticking to my S for now but I can't help what admire and wonder what if

You are not selling a perfectly good NFR AP2 for an Accord.

I have had the thought of selling the s several times over the 6+ years of ownership. I can say that there is nothing in the current Honda line that would interests me enough to even consider it. The only cars that have ever made me have that thought is the nsx, 135i/335i, cayman s, z4m coupe, 09+ z4 35i and e46 m3.
I believe once the "new car experience" would wear off in about 6 months, you would deeply regret your decision. The new accord is very nice. It would be a great car to have along with the s, but it is in no way a suitable replacement.

It's hard to justify selling a soul inspiring car for a jazzed up commuter.

I own and S and a stage 2 Subi Legacy GT. 310hp and 350 tq. As much fun as this is to commute in, stomping on that throttle is breath taking, the pure joy of revving out that S2000 motor is a thrill not bested by torque.

If money is a factor, buy a boring used 4cyl sedan until your fund situation changes. TSX is a great option, and pretty cheap on the used market.

Every time you change cars, you loose money. It's expensive and it adds up.

Dont do it ...took me almost 12k and a yr of ownership to start to really get a clear view of what a great car the S is ...in my eyes its a car in a class of one ...ill own mine forever . Btw I did sell my S once ...ONCE never again !!....o FORGOT something ...its not my DD ...I have a TL for the job ....also if u like money NEVER BUY A NEW CAR ...what a waste of cash ...I have three cars for the price of one new one ...a Pilot , TL and The S2k ..all for the price of one new accord ...think about that
