" i heard them things ain't got no torquee down lo"
Do you guys find the most common way for someone to strike up a conversation about the s2k is "hey man i heard them things aint got no torque (in this exact vernacular for those of us living in Tennessee)? I've about fu#*&$g had it with this comment. I would say on average i hear it about 1 out of every two times I drive the car. I even had this fat police officer wave me down at a gas station just to ask me this question. I think im just going to start ignoring people asking the question.
i really like the answer by WhiteS2K in this thread :
This question has been asked so many times that it ought to be in the FAQ section of the board.
The answer to your question is "NO". The S2000 has no torque at all. I have to push it to the freeway on-ramp each morning and then roll it down the ramp to get it going. But once it gets going, it will keep going, just don't ever stop. Have you ever seen an S2000 going around town? Probably not. If you ever see one in town, nine times out of ten it is stopped by the side of the road or in a parking lot. The reason is that it will not go anywhere because the engine is so weak. And God forbid if the S2000 is stuck in stop-and-go traffic, it just stalls dead holding up the rest of the traffic because there is not enough torque to get it started once it stops. Most times, the cars behind it just push the dead S2000 along to keep traffic moving.
I would say to everyone who are concerned about the "torque" issue with the S2000 to NOT get one, because you will not be happy with the car.
