i got my neuspeed exhaust installed my bmw mechanic (go figure~ he did it for free ) anyway, the exhaust looks great and it has a nice deep rumble. the note is quite loud between 2k to 5k rpm but after that, vtec kicks in and the exhaust volume is heaven. however, its a different story with the top up. the exhaust noise volume in the cabin is uncomfortably loud in the lower rpms. my ears were ringing after a spin around the block. i love the look of the exhaust and the sound is awesome in vtec but the noise is way too loud with top up. i suppose ill have to do all my driving top down


is this normal? anyone else with aftermarket exhaust systems (hks, spoon, neuspeed, etc.) have this condition?

Yes, it's normal with the Neuspeed exhaust. I have one and experience the same sound. It's hardly noticable with a hardtop on
