Default I Love the S2K's Trunk!

I get tired hearing about how impractical a roadster is. Some of my friends extole the virtues of sedans and SUVs remarking that they can perform grocery runs and day-to-day errands. Guess what, the S2K can too! Here's what I've fit onto the trunk. How about YOU!

1) 6 bags of groceries
2) Dive gear and SCUBA tanks for 2 people
3) A day's worth of autocross supplies (helmet, cooler, folding chair, video camera, plastic bags, etc.)
4) A weekend's worth of track supplies (Items mentioned in 3) plus 3 days worth of clothes)
5) A 26" barrel Shotgun in its case
6) Dressage Saddle and Bridle
7) 2 50lb bags of horse sweet feed
8) 2 months worth of cat food
9) My wife's dry cleaning
10) A weeks worth of luggage for 2 AND the boot cover!

The following items fit PERFECTLY into the well
* 2 6-gallon Rubbermaid gasoline containers
* ~16 gallon Igloo cooler
* 2 5-gallon paint buckets

My ex-girlfriends dead body

No I'm kidding thats not funny, I do find though that packaging is key. Sometimes I can fit tons of stuff and sometimes only one stupidly shaped box. Overall I think the trunk is more then adaquite.

1 golf bag with long driver. Two medium sized golf bags don't quite fit.

Wow, you fit all that stuff in your trunk at once?!

lol

No, I agree with you...the S2000 is surprisingly well suited for day to day errands. I did it for a good long while before I got the 4Runner.

But I have fit my set of golf clubs, which is a cart bag, pretty big and another set that is a stand bag. It takes some doing, but I can get both bags in there.

Whoa...that is some damn skillful packing! The trunk was actually smaller than I had expected, but certainly enough for basic daily functions.

I understand the trunk of the SM prototype was originally smaller, so we should be glad it came out larger on the production S2000.

Yeah, but we sacrificed a cylinder for the extra space.

I did my biggest grocery run in the S yesterday. $108, 7 bags. It fit well, but it was at about it's limit. Good thing I said no to wafer thin mints.

I find the little "shelves" on either side of the well useful also. They'll each hold a plastic grocery sack if it's not too full. I've even managed to get the bulk stuff from Sam's in there, too.

Since I have the responsbility in my family for the grocery shopping, I am real pleased to hear that it serves that function very well .

Funny that you mention the trunk, I was getting ready to start a thread about it! Saturday I managed to COMPLETELY fill the trunk at Home Depot (ran into Roadstir from this board there) with 1 large bag of mulch and 1 large bag of wood nuggets for the garden. I also had in the trunk my tire compressor, tire gauge, and a piece of felt for the top. Unfortunately the full-size shovel that I bought didn't fit, so my fiancee held it in the passenger compartment on the way home!

The trunk is very useful, way to go Honda!
