I miss my S2000
I traded in my MY00 Berlina Black S2000 (with 120k miles on it) for an 2008 OBP STi with 7k miles. I figured since its my only car and my daily commute is 120 miles I needed something more 'practical.' It's also tough to go skiing, mtn biking and enjoy all my other hobbies that require me hauling more than the s2k could hold.
I might trade in the Sti for a low mileage AP1 s2000 and get a cheap 2nd car for bad weather/hauling needs, like a used cr-v or a fit.
I never had any problems with the S2000 despite often driving the car hard. Clutch was original and it great working order even after 120k miles. I changed the brakes at 40k miles, the 2nd set was still looking good when I traded it in (over 80k miles on them). I even averaged 25k miles on my rear tires!
The Sti is fun to drive and definately a bit quicker in a straight line but the car feels like a tank in comparison. Comparing the tranny between the two is even worse. Theres just nothing more exciting then changing gears in an s2000 at 9000 rpm.

Personally I think you screwed up.
For the price you paid on the STI...you could have kept the S2000 and probably bought a $10,000 beater like a Toyota pickup or a nice sedan as your practical car.
I'm a STRONG advocate of owning more than 1 vehicle. There is no one vehicle that can do it all. It's amazing owning a 4x4 pickup and an S2000 and having no payments when other people are paying $500/month on one car.

I personally don't need another vehicle to haul anything in, but I still agree with the above quote.
I only have my S2K. I don't usually have use for a lot of things to carry, anyway.
I'd hate to be this guy:
