Default I need a battery ASAP

My mechanic just called and he is almost done with my turbo installation, but he says the downpipe is too close to the battery. I have searched for a smaller battery, but I think I am just finding replacements for stock that are the same size. I need something significantly smaller. Help me please. I dyno on Tuesday!

Several of us use the Hawker Oddyssey PC680MJ. It is much smaller (and also weighs about 10lb less). CCA is lower though and may not be good for cold winter days (in FL, mine has been fine).

You can probably find one locally, but you can also order from:

Here are some pics of this size battery installed (the Genisis uses about the same size case)

If the turbo set up is crowding the battery, what about the AC lines? Or the fuse box? I assume the battery heat shield is removed...are you concerned that the heat may cause problems with the fuse box?

They had to bend the AC lines and I think turn the fuse box sideways so it is more flush against the fender side. By doing that, the OEM battery won't fit.

Look at AGM battery for Miata

I have American Eagle AGM battery for Miata and has CCA of 530. (much higher than stock)

It's smaller too, although only in length.
