Default I need an engine...

Today I found out that one of the valves broke off and dropped into the cylinder...causing severe damange to the cylinder wall and ruining the piston head.

Where is the best place to find a F20C? The dealership wants $9500 to put in a brand new one, 9K to rebuild OR find a used. I am fairly sure I can do this for half the cost, and that would be fantastic!!!

Please help....she is my only car! Thanks in advance!!

Nope...someone else might have though. I bought the car with 79K on it, it now has 97K on it.

I've seen full swaps for sale, engine and tranny for $4500 or so, Shippings probably $400 more. $9500 seems steep even for a dealer. I'n not sure I'd buy from ebay though. Their prices are no better than an engine dealer.

Going on this story, it shows that an s2k motor can go a LONG time after an over-rev before showing the damage. I think this should really show that a retainer inspection after an over-rev (or after buying a used car) is really necesary.
