I've got an '88 civic that we're taking to one of the 24 hours of Lemons races. We desparately need to upgrade the suspension, but we want to do it within the spirit of the rules, so I'd like to chop down my existing springs and/or find some junkyard replacements. Anyone got some good recommendations for sites that would have relevant info (spring rates/sizes for the civic and any possible matches)?

Try out honda-tech, last time iw as there they had a massive FAQ on your model EF, everything you could possibly imagine.

24 Hours of Lemons has the rules. It's pretty entertaining to read. In essence it's an endurance race for junkers. Cars are supposed to be worth less than $500 (less safety equipment and tires). We took an '85 Merkur XR4Ti last year to the SC race. We knew nothing about Merkurs, but fortunately there were a ton of online resources to help us out.

Make sure you squeeze everything out of the car...

And don't. I repeat, don't. Don't sour your victory.

P.S. Honda-Tech can be rather seedy.
haha clever response!
