Questions on Alarm Add-Ons
So my car is finally coming home from the shop soon. New top, new dash, new radio door panel, new center console. Still missing a radio, but I can live with that until the insurance pay out.
I'm definitely looking at some add-ons though to the OEM alarm. I've read about people using DEI two-stage proximity sensors and read about the DEI 795t pager.
Some questions:
1) Can you get the two stage to work properly with an OEM alarm? As in, can you somehow trigger a stage 1 "chirp" or "beep" before a stage 2 alarm trigger?
2) Is there another option to the DEI 795t pager add-on? The pager seems really bulky. I would like to have something smaller, like the pager-remotes on their standard two way alarms. I just want a simple pager add-on that will alert me if the alarm is triggered
If anyone has info, I'd much appreciate it.

Sorry I do not know the answers to your question for sure. Most likely you cannot wire a dual-stage sensor properly on the OEM alarm.
I suggest you actually put in a new alarm. The OEM alarm is simply too weak (when it comes to level of security) that it can easily be defeated. There isn't much point of tagging on accessories for it. A new alarm unit itself is only 160 to 200 generally from Amazon.com for a decent one. That will give you much better expandability (is that even a word?), and you get to reroute your wires properly, rather than just keeping the brin under the driver's seat ... which literally takes seconds to pull it out and break it
