Default I Need Help :(

Ok so there have been some certain oppurtunities in my life that would allow me to trade my S2000 straight across for an 05 chevy avalanche.

Now I know that most of my responses are going to be biased lol but I need real opinions on what you guys would do.

As some of you may know I am lucky enough to be able to afford an s2000 at the young age of 17, and it has been my dream car since 99 lol. I do have a job, but with my ridiculously hard high school schedule I can only work three or four days a week and only make enough to pay all my bills and have maybe 200 a month extra to spend on other things (gas, girlfriend, etc...)

My theory of thinking is that although I do own my dream car at only 17, I don't have enough money to be able to do the things to this car that I would like to make it what I want. Therefore, I trade this car for the avalanche (body lift, 33's, exhaust, etc...) just to drive around till after college and then when I get a job later on in life I buy another S and build it the way I wanted to.

Or I be happy that I have such an amazing piece of machinery and just keep saving my money to make it how I want it and drive it like it was meant to be aka track lol

So please any advice that anyone can offer would be awesome.

Thanks,
Cody

Wouldn't owning the Avalanche by just as expensive (perhaps more?) per month than owning the S2000? So wouldn't that give you LESS money to play with?

well I've worked it out and it would be quite a bit cheaper on insurance than the S is and the gas would even out by no having to buy 93, but still having to put that much more in the tank lol

you are not making a lot of sense on this???

why trade for a car that will cost you atleast as much as the s, when what you want is the s.

if you are thinking that it is too spendy to do all the mods, then the question is which would you prefer. the s as it is now or no s at all.

now if there is a situation in your life where you need a 4wd truck and can't afford that, then i could see loosing the s, but otherwise i see no reason to give up your DREAM car

You are 17. Obviously right now you don't have a mortgage and all of that crazy stuff, but you should never just work to pay for a car...I don't care what age you are. If you decide to keep your S, don't feel like you have to mod it. Of course almost everyone wants to but be happy that you actually have your dream car before you're even an adult.

If I could go back to your age, I would drive around a civic for a few thousand dollars and save every penny. I know you don't want to do that...but trust me man. If you can't put any money away, even at 17...change your situation.

Btw that does not mean trade it for a gas guzzler

^^^^ yea man that's a great point, and the more I think about it the more I just want to keep my S and just be happy with it. And I do agree with the gas guzzler thing that you were saying and I have thought about trading the S for a civic before, but only because I missed my old Coupe that I had lol.

I still am not sure what exactly i'm gonna do, but more than likely this is just a phase i'll go through and i'll end up keeping the S lol

OP, listen to me. Keep your S. The avalanche will not make you happy, nor will it be cheaper. Be content with what you've got.

after your car payments, you only have $200 left every month for gas, girlfriend, etc? are you on a ramen noodle diet, and do you make her gifts instead of buying them?
