Well guys I've thought about the whole civic thing and all that and it would be ok but money isn't the problem right now I was wanting to make the trade because I wanted more room, quietness!!! haha, and maybe a little more luxury lol
But I have good news
I drove the truck all day today and came to realize that the pure RAWNESS of the S is what makes me love it soooo much. I actually didn't like not feeling every little bump in the road and all that lol
So I've decided that what i'll do instead is just keeep the S and save up some money on the side (and yes I know it will take a while lol) for a hardtop of some sort to make the car a little more comfortable/ civilized
So great news to everyone
i'm deciding to stick with my dream car that I am lucky enough to have at only 17

Yea I'm starting to mature and realize that just because I have a car like this doesn't mean that I have to keep on modding it. Especially when I don't have the money lol I am by no means though leaving it alone just not touching it till I am out of this situation lol
But thanks again to everyone for the advice

Traded in my S2000 to get a 4Runner (out of necessity), but at your age, I would definitely keep the S (which it sounds like you're doing). I certainly wouldn't trade for an Avalanche. I love my 4Runner but wouldn't hesitate to jump on another S if the opportunity afforded itself. Damn, I miss that car.
hey cody,
i have own an s2000 since i was ur age too. i had this car through high school and now into college. yeah, i had a job too, well i still have the same boring job now. and yea insurance was a pain in the ass. money was tight, payments, gas and the occasional girls (dates). and yeah, i wanted to mod the S so bad, maybe a turbo or a supercharger and i still want to. but, i didn't have the money then nor do i have any now. if you think owning a S is hard in high school, imagine what it is like in college. when i was back in high school, i was so proud of myself to own my dream car as well. i considered myself to be lucky that my parents gave me 7K to help pay for my car.
the only mod i could afford was an intake and that took several months and then a test pipe. i wanted an exhaust since i bought the car, TWO years later i could finally afford one. what i am saying is, that i am not bias. i know what you are going through, and yes it is tough. but every time i get in my S i love it more.

My buddy had an 05 Avalanche and you do NOT understand how bad that truck is on gas. It would get no more than 18 MPG highway. Around town like you'll probably be doing you are looking at 12-15MPG, and that's without flooring it all over! Trust me the 20-30 cents a gallon difference from 93 octane to 87 octane will not make up for a vehicle that gets half as many miles to the gallon!
If you want a cheap to own and maintain and insure vehicle till after college why not consider a nice 4 door car (Accord, TSX, Camry, etc.) you'll pay half as much in insurance as an S2000 at your age and get even better gas mileage.
When I was your age I chose to drive a beater car, save my money and live life without worrying about how much my car was costing me....after I finished college and get on my feet I could afford a car like an S2000.
Life is too short to not enjoy it the way you want to because your "toys" are holding you back. Sport cars, motorcycles etc. are supposed to add to your enjoyment of life, not prevent you from doing other things you want to do.

My thoughts?
Keep the S. DO NOT MOD IT. Stop spending cash on it. Pay for insurance, do your own maintenance, and drive it.
You'll get asked to drive more when you have a 5 seater. You'll spend more money on gas due to driving more and the lower MPG. You'll spend more money on maintenance just because of the larger engine (more sparkplugs, more oil, etc etc).
