The stock head unit is Alpine, so I'm assuming yes, but ask Pinky, I hear he's pretty good with that stuff.

The stock headunit is made by Matushita. I don't think it is Alpine.

You might want to try a search on this one, as there are several potential solutions:

1) See my webpage for installing a PAC SWI-3 yourself.
2) Contact Pinky for his help in installing a PAC SWI-3 pre-wired into your harness.
3) I believe there has been some discussion about an Alpine-specific cable from the UK.
4) A Sony-specific hardwired cable is in the works, but it could be used as the basis for other similar stereos (schematic provided online).

Good News for you Blue!
Very nice head unit! And guess what! You are one of the lucky ones that can actually use the Alpine Dash Control Adapter!

The adapter is model #:KCE-865B. It currently works only with European head units. But there is a guy here in the states that is making it work with his system and trying to figure out how it can work with other Alpine head units here in the US. [Shaner & Barry jump in any time!]

If you want more info on the adapter, and what we have been going through here in the US with the Alpine Adapter

MacGyver -

I had a new deck installed today and they ordered the PAC unit for me. I copied your webpage and gave it to them. Well it turns out that they had problems (even though they assured me it would be a simple install). Im not exactly sure how they hooked it up but it cant be programmed. You hit the program button and it blinks but wont stay lit. I am going to call PAC tomorrow, but I was wondering if you had any ideas??

Check MacGyver's page, or one of the threads here, but it's almost certainly a wrong resistor. The variation from car to car is substantial, apparently. Try upping the resistance to the next size up. Instead of a 2.7K ohm, try a 3.3K ohm.
