I paid MSRP+ and I the grin has never left my face!
Ok...this car is awesome! It handles like a dream, gets looks everywhere, has a crisp exhaust note that turns the heads that didn't see it coming, and is by no means less (and in some areas more) than I had hoped!
So the plastic window gets scratches - it is as plastic now as it was in the showroom! Plus, if honda wants to spend the next 4 years replacing it under warranty, no biggie for me (I get to drive a nice Accord or CRX whilst they work anyways)!
I paid $1,000 over MSRP (It had been marked $4,995 over before negotiations), but got $2,500 over book for the car I traded! This was my salesman's first S2000 sale, so they made his end look as good as possible, and all it cost me was a few extra bucks in taxes! I just don't see the point in crying over what we paid and what we got when we knew what we were getting going in - and had a darn good idea what we were gonna pay!
Is there anyone else out there who went in educated enough BEFORE parting with 33+ grand that they still feel satisfied despite the changes to the '02 model? Isn't it enough that Honda saw the few problems and changed them on the new model (compare the 2nd and 3rd and 4th year Mustangs to the 64 1/2...you think the owners of the originals are crying about the shortcomings of theirs compared the the follow-up years)?

Paid MSRP and researched prior to purchase including this board.
I have pet peeves about this car.
I worry about it a bit too much.
Yes, I love this car. Every time I'm in it, top up or down, VTEC or city putt putt, it feels great to drive. No regrets on '02 model. It may not be the fastest or best car, but it's the one that's right for me.

I'm not jealous of the 2002 owners. I have been driving my car for 8 months! They have been driving their SUV, Accord, Camry, or whatever, while I have been having a blast on the track and with the other local S2000 owners. I wouldn't give up the last 8 months of fun for a console cover, dead pedal, and glass rear window for anything.
