I really don't understand the "I can't get the car wet with rain". Doesn't the car get wet when you wash it?

The only thing I could understand is that driving through the rain means water could be forced in some places it doesn't belong. Maybe that, or you just washed it and don't want your hard work to go to waste.

Wow, mine has been parked outside since the very first day out of the showroom floor. My S has never been parked in the garage, the garage has the nice cars and after 3 1/2 years of being outside the S still looks fine.

I don't drive it much so I have thought of getting a cover for it to keep the sun off of it as the S is my rainy day car, I only drive it when its too wet to ride the motorcycle.

So yeah to the original poster, you are a lot obsessed.

Curious to know what the "nice cars" are.

-also make sure not to eat spicy foods or fruit within 48hrs of driving your car. these are very acidic foods and trace amounts will come out in your breath and eat away at the interior.

-sun will fade the paint so make sure to keep it away from that as well

-your tires and brakes wear down and bits of tread will get stuck to the inside of your wheel wells. probably best that you avoid driving the car

-the soft top is a large concern as well. make sure that you keep it down at all times so it is not subject to fading from the sun, but do make sure to keep it up at all times so it does not wear and develop holes 10 years down the road.

you crazy dude

a 1934 Singer 1.5 Litre
a 1934 Singer Le Mans
a 1967 Fiat Dino Spider

and there is even room for my 2009 BMW K1300GT motorcycle.

The Singer's are British cars and the Dino is a 8,500 RPM twin-overhead cam V6 fed by 3 2-barrel webers that is actually more fun to drive then the S2000 but those old Fiat's rust by just looking at them so I don't drive it in the rain, that is why the S is my rainy day car.

yeah when the weather is semi foul, I drive the other car. I'm pretty obsessive about keeping it clean, and crap I think I really need to get her in for a good wax soon. Because after reading this, I realize I'm marring my paint! ack. Typically I use that detailers spray but I think that's for after it's clean. which...is kinda weak.

there are pollutants and toxins in rain water that are not in the water that comes out of the hose since it's been treated.

Anyway, I washed the S yesterday and noticed how many rock chips are on the front bumper, hood, and fenders. Even in the clear coat, you can see little indentations of where pebbles have hit it...it's depressing. Black shows everything
