Default I was wondering how

the car? Ok so we have the 2 on top but what holds the back down? DO they latch it in the back too?! Cuz i was sitting there wondering today how do you even reach your hand back there to latch something?! anyone got pictures? Im planning to get a hardtop soon and i was confuse about that.

yeah they latch onto the back with extra hardware that normally comes with the hardtop

To unlatch it, you move the seatback forward. You don't get at it while sitting in the car.

man thats crazy. I need a ht so bad, its starting to get chilly here and i know sum1 will try and hop in my car through the damn top.

ok i looked at the link up there. And from what i see. You gota take the back panels off to get to the thing to unlatch it?! you gota do a lot of work to take these things off i thought it was just latches mannn making me think now

No, what that link shows you is how to install the kit. This is done ONLY once. Once the kit has been put on and all the trim panels put on, you never touch those again. To lock the HT down, you latch the front windshield latches (just like you do the soft top) and the rear catcher latches (which are those 2 levers you see). Removal is the reverse of this. Then you lift the HT off the car and your soft top is ready to be operated.

Here are the front latches, just like on the soft top:

Here are the rear latches. Those pointy things go into the catchers that were installed originally from the kit. You remove nothing for those points to go into the receiving catches.

how much do the dealership usually charge for installation?

It's really not that hard, if you can change oil I'm sure you can install the hardware yourself.
