Default An idea for a hardtop for s2k

Hey guys, i've been thinking about this for a while. Really, i want a removable hardtop for the s2k like the carrera gt.

with top

without top

were its a removable panel, not the entire top. Is there anything like this out there? I really want to get rid of my soft-top (i personally hate the way the car looks w/ the top up) but cant due to the fact that its a daily driver.

No such kit exists, but ask a few sponsors if they could have it made. Anything is possible with the right $$$ behind the idea. That Porsche is just gorgeous!

I don't think that would be possible with our car in it's current configuration. If it could be done you would need to probably remove the trunk lining and open up the trunk area. Space is the key, it would also add a lot more weight.

If you really want a removable panel, have you considered the Viiper or the NSX? I think they have removable panel roofs.

How much does the whole soft top assembly weigh? Wouldnt that offset the weight of the new assembly? Plus its just a removable panel, not a mechanized one like on the MB or Lexus.

Neither vipers or nsx's are affordable to me

true, didn't think of it that way. Actually a lot of people with hardtops have removed the softop mechanisms. The whole assembly tips the scales around 100lbs.
