I probably still would have wanted the 'vert even with that kind of price differential.
I was looking to replace my 1996 M1 Miata with another roadster. I could have bought a quicker hardtop for cheaper then (Mustang, etc.) but that wasn't what I wanted.
The fact that the S is a ground up roadster design with a chassis that is, in fact, stiffer than some coupes was really amazing to me when I first looked into the car.
So, no thanks. I'll keep the drop top.

There is a HISTORY at work here! The S WAS and should ALWAYS be a CONVERTIBLE!
That's what the S is all about. Its a SPORTS CAR.
If Honda's coming out with a coupe they better not name it the "S."
