That seems crazy to me. A lot of times if it's raining, I take my wife's civic because I don't care for the s2k with the top up, huge blind spots and creaky cabin, claustrophobic feel... I'm getting used to it, but at first I almost never drove top up.

I DD mine but the weather here in AZ is just too perfect most of the year to ever justify owning a hardtop, though I do love the looks of the mugen HT. Worst case here is 115 in the summer but I dont know how a hardtop is really going to help me there.

Given you live in OR where it rains a ton, I think a hardtop is plenty justified. Hardtop for the rain/cold. Softtop for everything else.

For people who drive always HT on, does it get warm inside the cockpit even with both windows down? As we know, spirited driving and A/C does not go hand-in-hand.
I dont think its any hotter than driving with the soft top up. For me its cooler than having the top down in stop and go traffic with the sun beating down on you .

On my last car I pulled AC and only could put the windows down to cool the car. The car I owned prior to that was purchsed with out AC, so for the last 10yrs or so before owning the S I never used AC anyway I may be more used to it than other people (Cali does have hot days, but its not like AZ, NV, etc.) and the only time I turn it on in the S is when the girl makes me

A downside to the HT is wind noise is worse with the HT than Soft top up, even worse with the top down .

I agree the blind spots are pretty bad, but they became less of a problem after I installed the craft square mirrors, they help that a lot . Now with the HT blind spots are not an issue at all.

I am just not a soft top/ top down kind of guy . I bought the car for its performance capabilities and its reputation for being reliable, not because it was convertible.

it IS my daily, and im in Toronto....so its basically top up from Oct-Dec 1st since the temps drop off quickly...then the car has to hibernate until about May 1st... given our winters are a bitch (not as bad in recent years).

only after that day in May can i LIVE again lol

cos in summer here, we only get 3-4 months of it, so its top down wheneveeeeeeeerr we can get it

Not a worry, the TPS and A/C clutch work together to turn off the A/C under WOT. But the real change would be full A/C removal for weight savings.

Yup, I'd get a hard top too -- I think it makes the car look a lot better and would've purchased a coupe S2K if they were available.

I hate the way ragtop verts make ANY car look... just so cheap.
Time for Honda to invent a light weight, hard top convertible like a Mercedes.

hard top conv would be cool. i mean, if miata could do it, why not honda?

they haven't done that yet. They're always so slow with those things. bunch of geeky engineers working at that company.
