Factory Racing support ie. Mazdaspeed, a factory sponsored racing series, and I do like the CR but personaly think they could have made a real R version...performance goals being similar to the NA1 typeR NSX it should have packed another 25-30hp, various use of carbon and aluminum in the body and chassis, Recaro race seats, F20 that goes to 10K, shorter final drive, 1.5 LSD, NSX brakes, FIA/SCCA approved roll bar, track bias shock and spring set up, and maybe even adjustable rear wing mounted higher. I think 2500lb. would have been realistic. 0-60 in the 4.5 sec ragion, 1/4 high 12-13 sec, sub 8 min. lap time on the Ring straight from the factory.

I guess for daily driving I always thought a small, light pressure turbo would be nice to give instant power down around 2500rpms and phase out by 7000rpm. Peak power wouldn't change much from NA but tq. would probaly incrase and the 240hp would be on deck much earlier in the powerband. Not much boost, maybe 6psi, just enough to shoot you into VTEC from low rpms without compromising the reliability of the stock engine.
So, basically, a factory built race car. With what that wishlist would cost coming out of a major manufacturer, you might as well just quit screwing around and buy a Radical.

I would kill for tilt steering on this car, can't believe that it doesn't have it. Wouldn't mind a bit more adjustment on the driver seat as well.

Not real sure how they'd do that without upsetting the balance of the car. I suppose it's possible.

As a clarification to my earlier post...honestly if they'd just do 240 to the WHEELS, and drop 150-200 lbs, that would have made a world of difference.

I wonder how it would have impacted the price

adding two cylinders couldnt add much more weight than turbocharging it, at least i would think.

SCCA/Track approved roll bar integrated into the design or a coupe option.

With the top up, the softtop frame has that arc shaped metal bar near the top of the window. Everytime i look at it i picture my skull getting a hole smashed into it during an accident by the metal piece.

For practical purposes a usb port for my i-pod the car really is fast enough (don't tell anybody I said that) Of course an extra 67 horse power and 67 pounds of torque would be great as well of course with out any extra weight.
