Default I'm buying a new S in a week, HELP!

I went to the dealers today and i was an inch from buying an S, im gonna grab it in a week or so due to shortage of down payment. anyway, i was dealin with the manager there and he said its impossible to sell the car under invoice ($29,995). he was offering me $500 on top of the invoice before tax title, and license. after those 3, it came out to $33,381. im wondering if it IS possible to get it under invoice and how much u guys bought ur brand new S for... thanx

sorry, typo, I meant I paid MSRP. ttl, brought me to about $34k I think? Anyhow I bought the extended warranty as well... Your mileage may vary!! It should be noted that I was not simply taking whatever the dealer had at the time, I made them ship it in for me and it took a couple months to get my color combo. I really didn't have much leverage there. :-)

btw, tax will vary from state to state, our exise tax is 3.5%.

The only way (99% of the time) you are going to manage getting an S2k at less than invoice is if it's a remaining '04, then you have leverage. And someone who actually works in the industry should check me on this but that leverage may even be gone right now as I am under the impression they try VERY hard to have them gone before the end of a calendar year so as not to pay additional taxes?! Now that they have paid them they probably need to recoup some of that.

I paid about $500 over invoice, and I agree, worth every single penny. This isn't a Cheby Truck (or American ANYTHING), you aren't going to get $10k off. Talk to the folks that sprung for MY '00's, I'm sure many of them paid WAY over MSRP just to have a shot at owning this incredible car.

Sorry, done rambling

We purchased our S at the end of the 2003 model year. Sticker (MRSP) on it was $33,060. We paid, before all the fees, taxes, doc fee, etc. $29,613 or $3,447 under sticker price. Hope that helps you....

Depending on what company you work for you might be able to get under invoice or close to Honda employee cost. If I bought new I would get the Motorola employee discount because we are a supplier to Honda in some way. I think the only car company we do not supply is Korean cars.

$500 over invoice is a good deal. Support American economy and go for it.
I would kick people out of the door if they came at my company and wanted to pay what I paid for the products I sell..
