Default I'm a freaking gut-less wonder!!

I'm so mad at myself.
I've been a Honda owner for the past 15 years, Ive wanted a s2000 from the day it came out. I never really was in a position to buy one (for one reason or another....house, family............however. I've scraped & saved & this was going to be the year I would buy one. I test drove the car 3 times & I loved it every time!! , I go to the dealers & I find a car in the color that I wanted, I agree to a price that I feel is very good & as I'm about to close the deal I get cold feet & back out of the deal. Wait it gets worse....I did this twice. I can just kick myself in the ars. I don't know why I'm so chicken, maybe becauce I've never owned a convertible before & I don't know what to expect, maybe becauce I don't want to deal with the hassle of taking it off the road in the winter & finding a winter car to drive & the storage of the winter car in the summer months? aybe becauce I've nervous about spending 30 gr on a car, maybe I feel I'll worry about the car too much. I'll be afraid to park it at work, stores, the gym, etc.... I don't know. Now I'm starting to think I should buy a less expensive car that I could drive all year like a RSX or a mini cooper S. I bet ya if I got the car & after driving it for a few weeks it would all be good.

buy whatever makes your happy. if something doens't feel right, it most likely isn't the car for you. the s2k has added some stress into my life, but everytime i put the top down and enjoy the f20c...i forget about the worries i had.

I totally agree with Razor. Though, I have to tell you that I think people around the board go way overboard with their protectiveness and obsessive behavior. It is, after all, a car.

That said, I do park as far away as humanly possible. And, I do clean Neb as often as I can -- way more than I ever did with earlier cars.

It's a personal thing, Mark. This car is a "no compromises" vehicle and it doesn't elicit bland feelings from its owners.

At first it's cool and fun, but after a while, all the worrying gets to your head. I should've bought a 92 Civic.

Rather than the RSX or the Mini, I'd look into a E46 or an E36 M3 sedan(for your family). Anyway, good luck!

If you are that stressed out don't get it. A dream car should be enjoyed.

Get an RSX, the S is a dream until it causes nighmares when it isn't perfect.

I'm not quite sure that I understand the question. Either you buy it or you don't, but only you can work that out. What can anyone here possibly tell you that is more important than what you feel and think.

It is your decision to make. Don't look for anyone on this board to make it for you. You are the one who has to live with it.

Go with your gut. If I had at the time I purchased, I wouldn't have; even though it is the most incredible bang for your buck.

Man, it's only a s2k. Your anxiety about getting this car seem so overly exaggerated. It's not like you are about to buy a Mercedes SL55. I mean if it was that car I can see the stress.

Just get a Miata then.

KW, that's a really narrow view on this. This buying hesitation is totally based on an individual's perspective, and I completely understand what Mark is saying. I'll bet a lot of owners go through this.

If you've spent your life buying "average" cars, then the purchase of an S2000 could certainly create some angst.

A $30K car (especially one he won't drive in the winter) is an expensive luxury for most people I know. Sure, for folks with bigger $$, the ante is upped (like with the cars KW described), but the concept is exactly the same.

Anyway, despite this question of perspective, I think we're mostly in violent agreement here. Don't buy this car unless you can be comfortable with the mission/purpose that you buy it for.
