I'm a freaking gut-less wonder!!
I agree with the majority of the people above who say if you have hesitancy then you should resolve those issues first. However I don't think you should compromise either ... why bother buying a new rsx? keep saving and investing ... compromising would be a mistake imo.
I think your smart to listen to your intuition and having the courage to walk out ... a dealer is never going to make that easy.

Why don't you just buy it and enjoy it year-round? Purchase a good set of winter tires and you're ready to go.
I mean its just a car. Sure, I love mine, and I'm obsessed with it. But its just a car. Mines in just as good of shape as most that are parked for the winter.

It is only a question of which means more to you: enjoying the fun of driving the car or not having the full $30K tied up in the car. Once you sign on the bottom line, the car starts depreciating.
It's probably safe to say that most of us get some butterflies when plopping 30+ grand down to buy a vehicle, but it amazes me that so many people don't think twice about getting married to someone and in hindsight years later, they saw the signs of a failed marriage. But unlike a bad ex-wife, you'll probably have very fond memories of your S long after you sell it or trade it in for a younger model.
If you're that nervous, you're probably not the type of guy that's going to trash the car. You can always sell it and get most of your money back.
Get a set of snow tires for the winter months if you're worried about winter. Get a hardtop for it if you like the quiet and peace-of-mind it brings you. Chances are, you'll have many, many more things in your life you'll regret far more than buying an S.

Well, don't buy something that you can't afford - car, or whatever. Other than that, sounds like a case of "I'm not worthy". Get over it. You are worthy. Regarding the convertible aspect - I bought this car in spite of the fact that it is a convertible, and then I fell in love with the fact that it is a convertible. Many, many years ago, I had a good deal of trouble with a British convertible, and swore I'd never have another. I was wrong. Do it, man!
