Yes, this alone would get us into the 500hp range. It's a great way to make power, but the low torque is unamerican 
. Just as we've gone to distributerless ignition systems, we could also go to camshaftless valves. Imaging electronically opened valves. Not only would this give you the perfiect cam durations and angles for every rpm, but without a valvetrain to spin the redline goes way up. I'd guess this is the future.
