Default 'import X' revs their engine, what do you do?

I get this a lot- I'm driving somewhere and as a Civic, VW, or some other small japanese import passes going the other way, they see me and start revving their engine.

I've thought about it some, and I simply don't know what they are expecting me to do?? Take notice? Turn around and race them? Rev my engine in response? Wave?

I typically look in my rear view mirror and just keep driving. What else is there to do.

Depends on the car and the guy in it. Course I'm not about to stop whatever it is I'm doing or going to race a civic. A lot of the guys around my area know my S anyway so I guess I don't get it as much as others. My brother and I take it to our local shops all the time and kids/guys see it around town a lot I think they've gotten used to it being around.

But its up to you, be yourself. If its not your thing then don't do anything. But keep in mind some of those guys most likely just want to hear the 9000 rpm noise come out of your car. You have to admit it does sound mint!

Yesterday must have been "brand-X" import day for me then.

In Danbury, CT, I had a dark blue GSR pull up next to me at a light...he looks over and says "nice car" then proceeds to entertain me with the sound of his blowoff valve LOL. On the way home from there, I get tailgaited by another Integra but this time it was a real Type R in white. It seemed pretty quick as he did the ricer fly-by

At least these were serious cars and not some F&F wannabe

i get that usually form the kids in their rice-cars, and once in awhile amore serious car, but I just look over, acknowledge them, smile and wave. I'm not gonna race anyone, but I figure if i am friendly about it, they'll be cool too. I've had cars gun it at a light only to slow back down and say "nice car!". I'd rather make friends out there than appear all snobby and increase the hate against our cars.

OK, but I'm saying they are headed in the other direction, not at a light. Most of the people revving their engines at me are going the opposite direction. I'm guessing they just want me to notice them? I live in a small town, and maybe they've put some money into mods and would like their car noticed, or maybe its a 'kin' thing?

Thats what I'm getting at- I think its a form of communication, I'm just not sure what its communicating

I get the ricer rev everytime I take the car out. Round here there is nothing but foolish boy-ricers who think that they have or actually could have something to prove.

One time a modded E36 M3 was driving on opposite direction and reved at me. I was just cruising so I turned around and spanked him badly.

I pulled up next to a riced out acura with a giant tail pipe, probably 6". As soon as he saw me next to him he started reving. I just had to smile at him and give him a thumbs up as I had a cop behind me that had been following me for about two miles. Needless to say, the acura burned out across the intersection and the cop nail em.
