i have had it all. I have had several integras follow me around for a while. then I have had random people asking me to rev the engine to hear my car at higher rpm. I have had people pass me then slow down and then pass again, try to get me mad to race them. Well, I don't race unless I think it's worth it cuz if I get caught I have no one to blame but me. My 2cents...

I got nothing to prove to those guys, I'm not going to be egged into a race. The way I see it is one of two ways, either: 1) the driver that revs at me is stupid cause I will spank him silly or 2) they got something serious under the hood and will spank me silly. It's fun to watch those riceboys in their wide body, ugly paint, fart tipped Civics burnout at a light and look like fools while I just casually put the car into 1st and cruise along.

My first reaction is usually to laugh at them. If it is something worthy to waste the gas on, it turns serious. But all in all, I rarely go at it on the streets because I have seen wrecks caused from racing and also have had a friend die of it so to me I would rather show it on the track with other people who are into cars than some 16 year old who is just trying to provoke me so they can see a S2000 get on it.

I think alot are just sorta giving you an acknowledgement. Honda kids rev at me alot but I think they see the Honda lineage and it adds more credibility to their cars so I don't take it as a challenge, more like a salute. Other rev'rs just want to say their car is in the same league as yours. Which is just silly.

I usually ignore it. Yesterday I had a Mustang GT rev on me...I didn't run him. After the guy takes off my wife says to me 'Why didn't you run? You could've had him.' I was like...I thought you didn't want me street races. She then tells me just not to do it on the freeway. Streetlight races which are quick are ok, kinda. So next thing I know I pull up to a stoplight next to some riced out integra. He guns it...his exhaust makes a loud roar as he tries to take off. I take off, switch into the lane besides him and take him by 5 lengths. Fun stuff. Btw, afterwards he wouldn't even get close to me. I think I made him feel embarassed

well if it's a piece of sh*t, which most of the time it is, i look at their girl in the passenger seat, smile, and give them they a look, like what in the heck is he trying to prove, the usual smile back assures me that his girl is fair game next time i run into her, i imagine that if the light was long enough it would set up a good opportunity for an introduction and then to a number, HAHAAAA

My son tells me that it is a way to say Hi... or Nice car. Not to challenge for a race.

it pretty much is a way to say hi or nice car...i rev when i see a modified car or a nice supercar just to acknowledge him and let him know whats up...but i also rev at the riced up civics with a tip and some hubcaps and all the decals (you know) and try to embaress them also....but sometimes i try to get people to run me just by revving, if i see a car id like to race, i let him know......

i dunno, i would think that a simple thumbs up for acknowledgement...there's no confusion...a rev can be takin so many ways. If they like your car, they will say it, give you a thumbs up, or just look. If they wanna piece, they rev. but that's just what I think.
