Improve your Knob Sock...
If you can imagine improving a Hesel Original... But I think I've done it.
A console cover is required.
It always bothered me that the leather was too stiff to retract on the bottom. this only emphasized the 'used condom' look. Furthermore, it allowed the thing to slip off too easily. Finally, because things were tight for the sewing machines, the stitching was not up to Townsend's usual standard on this bottom edge.
Solution: Cut the bottom edge off. Do this right at the current stitching with very sharp scissors. Be careful to cut straight. Second, sear all loose threads so that it doesn't come apart. Sew the end of each seam to further ensure the thing doesn't come apart. Now, take your new console cover, and cut a strip of leather about 8" long and 1/4" wide. Finally, punch four 1/4" holes vertically evenly spaced in the bottom of each panel (16 total). Thread the strip of leather through these slits and you have a little stash bag... I mean a knob-sock that you can tighten on the shifter. Pull the drawstring tight and tie... Voila.
Make the strand longer and you can even have the Harley Davidson look.
Anyway, this has been a dramatic improvement for me... especially now that with the cold, this is so critical an accessory. It is tightly in place. No slipping, and makes the thing look very factory.
I will post pics as soon as possible, but my camera is giving me fits... rather it's interface to the computer is giving me fits.
As usual, thanks to Rick for making this thing in ther first place.

Finally got around to fixing my crappy camera's connection.
Better solution would be to get a decent camera instead of my $70 special.
The quality is about what i paid for.
Anyway... here goes.
