Why is this thing so cheap? What's wrong with it? What's the catch? Only $38.00???????????

It's all relative to the famous saying, "U get what U pay for"
The truth is it's a part has most likely never been tested or raced with and the manufacturer is duplicating an existing design(example) aem. Personel history is buy the correct part the 1st time and save yourself the hassle of dealing with crap. I have AEM and I'm happy with it until I go FI. MY 2cents.
Hope it helps!!!

The filter is prolly crap and would need to be replaced early. The rest looks pretty good assuming the fitment is acceptible.

Ummm... I've seen that exact same intake elsewhere on eBay and they call our cars the CIVIC S-2000, wtf is that?? If they don't even know that the S2k is NOT a Civic, how can you trust their product?

From past experiences, I would normally agree with the statement above. But in this case, to my knowledge the company that manufactures this intake piping has copied the AEM specs verbatim. The only variables are the silicone tubing, silicone couplers, and the filter.

Replacing the filter is no big deal, the local Pep Boys or Auto Zone should have a stock of K&N filters to replace the one included. The silicone tubing and couplers can be replaced for different colors (but quality would more than likely remain the same).

The clamps are standard, so no need to replace those.

Save yourself the $$$, pick this one up and just keep a K&N or JR filter ready to swap in. I really think 2 bills for some tubing is just ludicrous, AEM's design is good but not worth 2 bills for tubing! Mugen's $1500 intake is awesome, but just isn't an acquirable taste for my wallet. This one is perfect, as long as the seller follows through on shipment.

I think there's a board memeber that's tried this filter with success.

I bought an intake (I think form the same guy) for my wife's civic. The hoses didn't fit very well, though. It's look's exactly like the AEM CAI, but it was only $38. It's up to you, but if you do get it, change out the filter for sure, and you may need to change the hoses. It doesn't sound right on my wife's civic. I know it's a civic, but on EVERY car I've heard with a K&N, it growls. This is more of a whistle. WOOOO HOOOO!

Dimes to dollars thats a 2 1/2" filter opening and not the 3" which is on aem. I bought a cheap-o for my girls se-r. The filters are cheap-o....and the intake mtl. tubing is heavy. The side walls are thicker than an aem so heavier all together. But for the money not a bad deal.....Oh by the way.....No direction are included with the cheap-o intakes. They are made in Tiawan.
I also wonder if in time that chrome will discolor with engine heat! But My girlfriend likes it.

I bought one of these off ebay. Still haven't had time to install it. When I do, I will use a KN filter that has been sitting in my garage. Can't beat it for that price. I pay 30 + 20 for shipping, now I see them for like 26 bucks + 20 for shipping. Not a bad deal at all. Just wish the tubing were not yellow, but can't complain cuz it is so cheap
