Innocent fun or being a jerk?
There's a stretch of highway on my way to work where people are merging from the right, and I have to exit on the right a short distance later. I've tried being polite and get over to let people merge but it's the same @55holes that I was polite to who won't let me back over so that I can exit the highway. SO I dont get over any more, but I drive very predictably at a steady speed to make it as easy as possible for people to merge...
What ticks me off now is the people who HAVE to merge right in front of me, sometime by inches. I can have traffic in front of me, and a mile of empty highway behind me, and people still have to floor it and cut me off. What the hell?

Ok, I am not crazy.
But this also makes me realize that I now appreciate the 9000 rpm scream even more because it adds insult to injury and scare the crap out of some of them. Too bad for you MY04+ folks and your low 8000 rpm.

In the other they are mad that they can't prevent you. Does the fact that they get pissed give you an extra thrill?

I've experienced what you have and about a hundred different variations of the same senario.
The answer is "no". Toying with people on the road under any situation is just plain stoopid IMO. Especially just because you have the faster car.
I think the only reason you justify doing it is because you think that what you are doing is really making them upset. You think this because you KNOW that if it was YOU being toy'd with it would probably drive you to road rage.
Plain and simple...stop doing it. Your not the "traffic sheriff" and it's not your responsiblity to teach people lessons.
Your gonna find that you are going to always run into all types of drivers that piss you off.. Just let them be... and move on.
Your driving style is the kind that in the immediate future may seem safe and within limits..... but eventually lead to trouble. Your "instigating" road rage from another driver... Eventually you are going to run into someone who is not rational to your driving etiquette and may push you to act unsafe.... or eventually you will run into someone with a faster car and you'll be the one being toy'd with..
Drive safe..

If LA gangters got pissed for any reason, they would just use their Magnums to spray holds in your car and your body.

do you get a thrill out of the fact that they were intentionally being a jerk and you just left them in the dust when that was the last thing they wanted?

I bet this person is you at the stop light...
onto the freeway all I can see in my rearview mirro as I am driving along normally is this guy is frantically trying to catch up so he can pass me.
I bet this person is you driving your S....to pass the guy who just passed you..
Each time the guy starts to catch up, and I am just driving casually, he catches up He looks at me angrily I smile, hit the gas and pull away.
I am just having so much fun at watching the guys agrivation over nothing.

"I have this fantasticmobile that is far superior to your peasant mobile you
heathen."
Based on this statement alone.... I'm surprised to see that you are 35 years old...
What amazes me sometimes is how oblivious a lot of this is to me when I'm driving any other car. It seems like the S makes me more prone to road-rage or aggressive pissed off drivers.
It goes both ways too. I have an entirely different demeanor when in another car. I drive much more aggressive when in my car as opposed to wife's accord. Not malicious or dangerous but more aware of drivers around me.
A few weeks back a co-worker had an incident where he angered a truck driver (not 18-wheeler but a box-truck) and the trucker slammed on his brakes on a freeway spur, got out of his truck to confront my pal. Well, my buddy saw this coming and somehow squeezed his RAV4 between parked truck and concrete wall all while trucker was pounding his fists on his side windows. In his rearview mirror he watched as traffic came around the blind curve at 55mph+ and plowed into illegally parked truck. Luckily nobody was hurt but there were many injuries and totalled cars. It hit the nightly news that evening. Pretty scary.
