I bet this person is you at the stop light...

onto the freeway all I can see in my rearview mirro as I am driving along normally is this guy is frantically trying to catch up so he can pass me.
I bet this person is you driving your S....to pass the guy who just passed you..

Each time the guy starts to catch up, and I am just driving casually, he catches up He looks at me angrily I smile, hit the gas and pull away.

I am just having so much fun at watching the guys agrivation over nothing.

heathen."
Based on this statement alone.... I'm surprised to see that you are 35 years old...
By the way read your own highlighted text that you typed in. You were just offering your opinion and not being condescending at all right? Nothing personal intended in the highlighted text right? C'mon, I don't care about your comments they do not hurt but to write something like that and pretend to be all innocent.

"I don't know how this turned into an attack on me." puh-lease.

By the way, don't think I am mad or take any of this too seriously. If I got mad at some guy on the internet calling me a jerk why would I post a poll and a thread inviting such things? I had a theory that this experience I had get the best of lots of people so I start this thread to see who is in denial, and my theory is that I struck a nerve with someone. Care to guess? Why does your car need to be modded to be faster, perhaps to beat someone at a street race, or at the track. To win at something? Time slips? Competition? All part of ego. Just admit it. Its part of being human, no need to get defensive. Its not a big deal.

Gotta leave early from work today and move out of my house over the weekend and next week so if you want to throw more stuff my way please do it soon cause I am gonna bolt from work at noon.

Enjoy the weekend fellas.

Your stereotyping people with modded cars... much like you stereotype people driving on the road... but that's your opinion.

I guess the purpose of your thread was achieved...

Drive safe..

Three easy driving rules every American driver needs to adopt.
And don't forget - if you give anyone the bird, you pay 500 Euros... to the guy you gave the finger to. It's called an insult fine.

FWIW, I think its not worth it to mess with someone, especially if you don't know his situation or state of mind. It could be dangerous. If you're messing with him because he has a crappy car, that's just sad. I feel grateful that I am in a the position to afford the toys that I have and wouldn't want to make someone feel inferior because of his financial situation.

We share the roads with many types of drivers: fast, slow, inexperience, inconsiderate and of course "jerks." The described scenario happened to me once in a while. I would find a break and I just drive past them, enjoying my sweet sounds and beautiful car and wonderful sceneries, knowing that they can never catch up to me.

Don't let them spoil your fun.

Cheers,

More than completely misinterpreted but oh well...........

I wonder how they prove the finger fine? If you can't make rent that month you could just go out and try to get the finger from a bunch of people.

I know exactly what you are talking about, and I see it all the time too. I try to avoid toying with other drivers when I'm in the S2000 because I'm afraid they will chuck pennies at my car or something if they get pissed off.

But I do take great pleasure in toying with other drivers that provoke me when I'm driving my 13 year old SE-R. Other drivers try to pick on me NON-STOP when I'm in that car. I guess they (very incorrectly) assume that my old ratty-looking Sentra is slow and their 4000lb SUV is much faster. It's not.

My very favorite power display on the highway, might be considered a dangerous one, and I have done it probably 20+ times. My biggest pet peeve on the highway is when people drive right alongside each other at the same speed. Even if it is higher then the speed limit, not letting anyone pass or move around them.

My favorite thing to do to these people is drop back just a little bit, then drop into third and pass them on an entrance or exit lane. Often hitting 90+ or faster, its dangerous, but I love it.

wickedpaul:

Now THAT'S dangerous!

The description of your scenario is exactly when I come up behind the left lane vehicle and give them a double-flash from several hundred yards off. They get 2 sets of flashes, then I will start to apply pressure, closing up the gap and bringing into use the 'ol horn.

It's called etiquette. Some have it, some don't.
