Does anyone have the pre 04 pdf install instructions? The pdf I have is for an 07 and does not cover how to remove and install the new front strikers.

 

Well now that you mention it, can you post the link of the PDF you have for the 2007 install? My hardtop is in transit and I have an 07. Hardtopguy forwaded me install instructions, but I'm not sure what year it's for. You can check his site, it's posted on there.

If you have any squeak or rattle issues after your HT is installed, the fix is also well documented here at S2KI.

For squeaks... go to the dealer and buy some Shin Etsu silicone lube, then apply it to all the soft black rubber seals on the outside edges of the hard top/windshield where the HT mates to the windshield, body, and around the windows.

For latch rattles... the dealer can give you some EPT Sealant (kind of like foam weather stripping), it really doesn't take very much to perform the fix below:

I performed the fix, AND tied down the latch hooks on each side of the lowered soft top with plastic cable ties (rubber bands work too); now my hard top is very, very, quiet - even on the bumpiest roads.

 

You can Use the stock strikers you already have. I think the're the same. They were only different for earlier MOy's
Just install the rear hardware and place the top on the car and your done.

I believe strikers only need to be replaced on MY00 and MY01. IIRC MY02+ have the correct strikers from the factory.
