Viscreal stopped by my place yesterday and helped me install the comptech springs on my S. The ride height of the car is now almost perfect with my 17" Volk's. Awesome is all I can say and the ride comfort is almost the same as stock.

After we took off the stock shocks and exchanged his for mine, guess what I finally saw on the stock springs! The spring spacers!?!?! I checked for those on the car when I read the notices on this forum, but I don't see how someone's going to be able to see those things without taking the wheels off of the car or knowing what they look like. Man, I've been driving around a few months with those things.

Well, its a good thing I got the springs from Viscreal because I thought those things had been removed off of my car already. What damage could I have done...

Anyway, Cdelena, it looks like your going to be getting my stocks from what Marc tells me so let me know how your experiment goes too. Hey I hope this makes up for the HKS thing man...

Hmmm... I've had my car for about 2 weeks, 2 days (1100 miles ) weeks now and I was curious about the spacers also. I've checked to see if they were there several times. My salesperson also said that they took it off.

But I'm still curious because every time I go over a bump or railroad track, the car seems kind of stiff.

I guess I need to take out my wheels someday...

huyto,

I'm pretty darn sure I don't have the spring spacers on my car since I installed them myself...but what the heck do they look like? Would you be able to point out where I can find them on the picture below?

Thanks!

Unicron, aren't the spring spacers on the springs themselves? If you removed your stock springs, even if they were on the springs, they wouldn't be there now as you have the comptech springs.

I'd also be interested also to see what they look like on a stock car, so I can know if they are still fitted to my car. It does feel very jittery at times.

Anybody got any pics?

Thanks

Unicron, yours should've been on your stock springs, since you have the coilovers they should be gone.

For what they look like, their little black rubber things that stand up down along the spring, with gooves in the rubber pieces to fit in each loop of the spring.

Just picture Unicron's spings, with a balck rubber piece about four loops high, about an inch wide, fitted on the four loops. If you just look for them with the wheels on, I don't think you can see them, but if you take one wheel off, just look at the springs and you know its there.

Again, if your ride is a little stiff , and bouncy, ie. when you go over a bump in the road on a turn, the car kinda hops a little, you should really check for the spacers. Just remove one wheel, and look, its better to be safe and sorry.

Unicron, smoke that dude in the bimmer and show him whats up.

One thing, when I hook up with Visc again for the import show on Sat. I'll see if I can get him to take a couple of pics of the spacers to post.

What kind of liability issues are there for the dealer and/or Honda if you were to have an accident in the car because the spring spacers were left in the car?

I purchased my car in Nov 99 and there was little talk of spring spacers then.

After two days of ownership I spun my car out hopped a curb and went thru a horse fence. The only damage luckily was my ego and front bumper was destroyed $750.00 the car had 250 miles on it.

Ironically that night someone posted a thread on the spacers so I got my flashlight and checked, sure enough I had thenm in my car.

Needless to say I was furious and called my dealer of course they knew nothing of these spacers, and said if they were in he would fix my car at no charge. They did and offered me a free extended warranty.

If I were you I would take the spacers back to the dealer and ask for a extended warranty it specifies in the manual that the car should not be driven over 15 mph with them on the car.

Hey it cant hurt to ask and be firm....
