Default Installed a stealth intigrated garage door opener

So my Audis both have the built in Home Link garage door openers, and I forgot how much it sucks not having that feature in a car. And there are several good reasons to have a homelink type of integrated opener:
-Garage door opener clutters up the interior / sun visor.
-In a convertable, you don't want your opener in the open; someone can swipe it, figure out your address from your tag or registration, and now they have a way to get in your house!

So I figured out a great way to integrate a garage door opener in the S2000, I took my regular garage door opener, and hot wired the circuit board so that two wires will complete the circiut for the button, then I can just wire that to a remote button under the steering column.

I popped off the A pillar, and there is plenty of room to mount the garage door opener at the forward base of the A pillar.

I then just ran the wires down under the dash, and mounted a stealth button at the bottom of the steering column. The range on the garage door opener is still great, and with the button under the steering column, no one will ever see it.

I took lots of pics, but I guess you can't upload pics to S2ki without buying a membership, so I guess I can't share those with you guys.

You could just host them on Photobucket and use some IMG tags, you know.

I clip mine to the panel above your shins, close to the hood release. Leave the bulky part on top of the panel and you'd never know it was there. The range is reduced somewhat.

There's a DIY for wiring it to your highbeams on S2ki too!

I too clip mine to the panel above my right leg. I included a strip of velcro on the panel and remote to keep it from sliding around (a problem when it's only clipped it to the panel). It works from about 100 feet away which is fine for me.

I did this exact same thing. (Even with the velcro)

I put my whole remote (without the metal clip) under the dash on the left of the steering wheel. There is an area where you can velcro it.
