Thumbs up Installing K&N FIPK tomorrow..

My K&N Air Charger (same as a FIPK) for my 06 came in today.
K&N instruction said I need to disconnect the negative battery before the install.
Do I really need to do it ? I am not doing anything electrical. I don't want to have to reset all my radio station and such. I rather not if I don't have to.
So do I really need to disconnect it ? Thanks.

Anyone who writes any kind of automotive installation instructions put this bit in about disconnecting the battery first. It's to avoid and legal liabilities in case you do something goofy (like drop a wrench across the terminals).
No, you don't have to do it to put in a CAI unless you are a clutz and might just do something goofy like that.

No need to disconnect the battery whatsoever. I'm not exactly the most handy person in the world and it took me just over an hour to install the K&N FIPK in my s2000. The instructions are awesome. You may want to cut small slits in the rubber tubing with a razor blade (around the 90 degree corners so you can get a better fitment).

No, don't disconnect it. I didn't when installing my Injen CAI.
