Default Insurance Cost..

Hello!
I am currently an RX-8 owner looking into purchasing a new car.
Currently I'm looking at either a Yellow/White S2000 or Lancer Evo X.
I am just wondering what the insurance rates would be for a student (College but under 21) in Orange County (Southern California). I know its different but I am just curious what others around me are getting. I have had 1 accident but thats it. I got the Evo quoted at 500 a month which is 150 more than my RX8.

Thank you

^^^ x2
Call anonymously to your company and several others; give them all your info (i.e. age, #tickets, #accidents, local, vehicles interested in) and you will have a much better idea; you might want to be sitting down. BTW, mine is < $1800/yr for 3 cars (6mo S2K storage).

Or go to insurance.com or some other place and fill out your info and let them give you some quotes. I did that just recently and they were within $10-30 of the actual quotes I had gotten.

Every case is going to be different so yeah, you're going to need to call around to find out. Strangely, my 07 S2K came out $25 / 6 months cheaper than my 04 RX8. I asked my insurance company why in my case and they told me that because the used market RX8s had become affordable to a younger demographic, and they can hold 4 people that they are finding a larger number of bodily injury claims than in the S2K. Strange, but I didn't argue.
