Default Insurance for the hardtop?

I am just curious how people dealt with the safety of the OEM hardtop.
I was thinking about asking insurance company about it but wanted to know if there are other people who has done it. I bought OEM hardtop used and it was fairly expensive, therefore, I would be devastated if anything happens to it (as I am sure every will feel same way). I have full coverage for my s2k.
Can you add the coverage for hardtop on top of your car since it is OEM part? How much would that increase the deductible?

I am curious to how people dealt with the safety of OEM hardtop!! Thanks

I think it will automatically add on if anything happened. When my car got vandalized, I had a JDP spoiler and it was covered for it, they basically asked if I was going to paint the spoiler or leaving it CF, and I told them CF, they basically gave me the money to buy another one and I sold the one I had. But however I'm not sure since the hardtop does cost a lot more then the spoiler

I believe the 'way' it work is if it's not stock they want to know about it prior to a claim. Typically with some proof of purchase.

I think this is right. Let your insurance company know now thst you added a HT. Very small increase in insurance is possible but probably nothing.

i think the better question than coverage is what to do in the event that it is destroyed or no longer usable... honda doesn't make these anymore

I have one and I called my insurance company to verify the coverage. I would suggest calling them tomorrow and talking to somebody. These are going to be harder to come by!
