Insurance on items inside the S2K
Hello,
This is my first convertible and I get worried about my radar detector when I leave the top down to go into a store or something...
It's a Valentine 1 and costed me over $400. What should I do to insure it?? My car insurance can't cover items inside the car can they?? Sometimes I have other items inside the car as well. If I'm going to be away from the car less than an hour I would prefer just to leave the top down.
What has everyone else done about this dilemma??
Thank You.

I think something like a radar detector would fall under your home owners insurance. Same thing with CD's... if you had a bunch of CD's stolen from your car, home insurance would cover it.
Anything in the interior of your car CAN be covered by home insurance, but it's not guaranteed unless you specifically have a rider stating such. Either way, no insurance company is going to cover you if you leave the top down and someone can just walk up and grab it.
