I've been with State Farm for more years than many of you folks have been alive and they've always treated me very well. They even did right by my kids. Never any questions, always fair settlements when necessary, competitive rates. They have agreements with the best local body shops as well as dealers; I've always been quoted fair prices for repairs, not bargain basement low-balls, and they've taken care of stuff directly with the shops.

Yes, shop around- but do keep in mind when dealing with our beloved toys that "You get what you pay for".

check out the local ones too. I'm with a local company and they give way better rates than any of the other companies. My coverage is awesome too.
Agreed. I used a local insurance coop at one point in time, and their rates where incredible and the service was outstanding. If I had been able to keep them when I moved I would have. There where some caveats to their coverage though, such as they wouldn't insure someone that drank (at all). If they could ever find evidence that you drank you where off the insurance.

Check out Wawanesa Insurance. They are based out of San Diego CA so I am not sure if the insurance will work for you, but they have the best rates for young drivers. Only the caveat is that you need a clean record, or they more then likely will not insure you. At the age of 22 I was paying 1100 a year with full coverage on a 350z. AAA wanted to charge me almost 3k a year and I laughed at them.

I tried searching all over the web but couldn't get an answer on this. If I excluded all other drivers from my policy besides myself would the premium be cheaper?
Any insurance question like this relies on too many variables to provide one-size-fits-all answers. The way to answer your question is to get quotes for your specific situation.

In your case, your age is really the main factor affecting rates so dropping other drivers really has no effect. It would be a completely different story, say, if one of your parents was looking to exclude you.

I think the point is look at the coverages, not just price.

I'll just stick with State Farm. I'm less than a year away from being 25. They do have really rood service and has treated me good. I can bear with $151 was just hoping to chip off as much as I can.

well when i call to get quotes i always have the coverage match up to what i currently have. otherwise what would be the point? my question was really asking if progressive is a good company to be involved with in general.

Just a tip for you. When I first bought my S2000 I was paying too much till I put my beater car on the policy as my "daily driver" and my total premium actually went down $30/month by having 2 cars insured! If the S2000 is your only car they will give you maximum rates on it.

Haha I was just thinking about that possibility. Maybe I'll get a $500 beater to put on there as a daily.
