Default Insurance question.(Prelude to S2000)

I asked on here about people who went from Honda Preludes to S2000s and they all said their insurance stayed the same. I called USAA today and switched them only to find out my insurance went from $140per month to $215 per month. Is this because its USAA? For those of you whose insurance didnt change, what company are you with? Im 21 by the way, if that helps.

hmm..
When I traded my Prelude SH for the S2000, my rate went down slightly (10 dollars per 6-months which was one of main reason I ditched my heavily mod'ed prelude).
Do you have 5th Gen prelude also?

I'm 21, with USAA, no tickets, good grades. I sold my '00 Prelude (base model) earlier this year for an S2000. With the Prelude I was paying around $120/month and the S2000 was like $5-10 more a month, nothing huge/basically the same. I have no idea why it would jump like that for you.

Not sure about Prelude's, but I went from a 2003 RSX-S to a 2005 S2000 and my insurance only went up $7/month...And that is with full coverage/highest amount possible with Safeco...$119-$126...Tarrant County (West Dallas), TX

At 23, I went from a 99 Prelude SH to my 02 S2000 and my insurance went down with Progressive.

Hi. Interesting thread, because I just went from my 1997 Prelude SH to my 2005 S2000. My insurance (in Los Angeles) went from $1800/year to $2450/year with AAA insurance, which I think is pretty reasonable. I have one accident and no tickets. I'm a 22 year old guy, too, if that helps. This is with all of my parents' discounts. Originally I tried getting my own policy (not on a family plan), and the average quote was $7000/year! One accident in LA can really mess things up!
