Default Insurance on s2000 :(

I want to buy an s2000 but I am under 20 living in Fl, I can afford the car but im afraid to see the insurance on it :/ how does it compare to other sports cars or regular family cars? My friend frecently purchased a 2013 Subaru WRX and said it wasnt much more than his 2004 Jetta TDI.... insurance is the biggest barrier keeping me from joining the wonderful world of being a s2000 owner.... post your feelings and comments regarding insurance on your car or my predicament thanks guys and gals!!!!

Life lesson, if you can't afford the insurance, you can't afford it when something on it breaks.
Also, if your under 20 buddy just bought a 2013 WRX, odds are he's paying a ton of interest on a 48+ month loan.

Finish college, get a good job, then go from there. I bought my '06 as my undergrad present to myself, and my '09 SI as my graduate present to myself.

i would say

i wouldnt let insurance sway my decision to what car to drive, you just got to plan for it

good luck, to answer your question it all depends, just call ahead and shop around and compare for yourself and your own situation!

Get on the internet or get on the phone and start calling insurance companies.

LOTS of variables affect your insurance costs.

Buy a Prelude or something with a back seat.

I would call or go online and get quotes from different companies.

I would start with your current company to give you the base line.

If you have a clean record, it shouldn't be too bad. But it also can vary A LOT based on location. In areas of known theft, I've found the rates can sky rocket. All things even, it should be less to insure than a WRX.

I forgot to mention I have a clean record and being on the same insurance as my parents cuts it down a little but on my pilot it is still ridiculously high, and the friend with the 2013 WRX- his parents bought it for him pays the insurance, gas, maintenance, tires, accessories, the lot. spoiled and im jealous but what can you do! *also living in FLorida near the coast doesnt help

One way to dilute the concentration of a particular kind of post is to add more of something that isn't the same. Post away!
