Sorry - I meant keep comprehensive and drop liability. Mixed them up... if you reach out to your insurance provider and explain to them that the car is going into storage they will be able to quote you the "storage" rate and you can discuss what is covered and what is not...
Regardless - there is insurance savings when it's sitting in a garage vs out on the road.

My full cover is $US300 per year, not worth my time sitting in a hold queue.

Insurance rates vary WILDLY state-to-state. For $300, with a savings of probably less than half that, far fewer people would talk about this, but some folks are saving much more than that.

Where I live (CT), my rates aren't tooooo bad - but I have a perfect driving record. One ticket and they'd probably double because I'd lose all the safe-driver perks. In addition to the SDIP point.

Here in Ontario, I call the insurance company and tell them the car is in locked storage. They down grade the insurance to fire and theft and comprehensive.

As for mileage, I just told them how much I drive each car per year approximately and that was it.
Exactly (minus the Mustang that is).

I dropped mine to comp only for the winter. Saves me about $400 a year since it's store for practically 6 months (nov-apr)

full coverage for the whole year for me is only $427. I maybe stored it for a month and a half during our frozen season...

no point to change really as its about the cost of a tank of premium gas a month..

That's right. I've been doing that for all of the 19 years that my S2000 has been stored over the years. I figure that I've saved something just short of $10,000 over that time.
