Gears are probably the best bang for your buck when it comes to making your car faster. Aside from that you need to go FI for some real gains. Bolt ons like a single exhaust will give you a small bump in hp, but nothing too drastic.

While some duals do look nice, have you really checked out the singles? They look great. I really like the T1R because it is the cheapest of the three 70mm exhausts, and it exits straight back. The J's for instance, angles out.

Check out my T1R 70 exhaust review thread complete with pictures:

what if you just use the test pipe, then the first part of the invidia exhaust that includes the resonator...that would make some power rite?

I think an Invidia with a test pipe would be deafening, as it's already a very loud exhaust.

I bought the Rick's single exhaust cap to cover the hole. It spans the length of your bumper. The exhaust is listed at like 1100 or something, but people are saying they're hearing quotes of 850 or so lately. Talk to AJPWR about it and I'm sure he'll take good care of you.

The amount of power you get out of an exhaust comes from how mandrel bent the piping is, and how wide the piping is. The only reason the duals on the market are making a couple extra hp is probably because they just designed the airflow in the shape of the design a little better than stock. To make power, you need larger diameter piping. I don't think that the Invidia is that much wider than stock.

I recently dynoed 201.9 rwhp with T1R sparrow dual exhaust and comptech intake. The sound is awsome too. My car is an 01 and my dyno chart is at the top of the Gateway S2K forum.
