Default Intake Gains

I am comparing two similar intakes: HKS Racing Suction and Comptech Icebox.

Not enough people have the HKS to offer dynos or experience, so lets talk hypothetically.

Which box is more efficient at protecting the filter from hot air? I think Comptech.
Which filter is bigger or more efficient? Look similar.
Which piping has better harmonics and flow design? I am not sure.
Which piping material insulates better from heat? Aluminum or ABS plastic?

Any help and opinions will be appreciated. I know the HKS has a bigger bling factor to make up for the price (and so rare) but I also want some power. Thanks a lot!

Plastic has a much lower conductivity value than aluminum.

Material Conductivity (W/m*K)

Aluminum 204.0
Magnesium 156
Silicon 148
Titanium 21.9
PCB 0.260

Going by these raw numbers, aluminum has the potential to conduct 784 times the energy of plastic. Plastic is a better insulator than aluminum and is far more resistant to heat soak.

I alway thought that was a weird design, bc it looks like it was made for a nother car, and was rigged to fit an S.

but if it tunes the intake, HKS was forced to make it that long.

but, on yours it looks pretty good the filter media matches your cars paint color. are they all yellow?

Gains from intakes are minimal so you can't go wrong with either. It's not like one of these two intakes is going to make a huge difference over the other. Save your money and get the gears, but that's just my opinion.
