Default intake, just looking for some opinions

i'm looking at getting an intake for my '02 AP1 and wanted some opinions on what intakes are best all around.. i was looking at the K&N FIPK and the thing said it makes 6-8hp at 6800rpms, which seems kinda alot for an intake especially on the s2000.. what intakes are dyno shown to make the most power..price wise i'd like to stay under $250.. noise wise i dont really want one thats super loud...what intakes do you guys recommend based on your experience?

I'd recomend gutting the stock air box and dropping in a K&N filter.
You might do this in combination with the AUT cooling plate.
or
You could go with the K&N FIPK and the AUT cooling plate. That is a popular option as well.

No intake is going to produce much power on this car. There are some that help reduce heat soak...but the best ones have some drawbacks, like hydolock.

As GOS2k says...gut the airbox, get a K&N, and something to direct air into the box a little better. I'd personnally recommend one of the Spoon-knock-off snorkles (fiberglass versions = $100).

for the budget you have, stay with the K&N or go with the AEM if new. My personal choice would be a used Comptech system though.

K&N is nice, looks good cleans up the area well and installs easy.

Sound is the mod, they claim 10HP but i would say it's really some better throttle responce.
