Default intakes

What's the difference between a short ram intake and a 'regular' intake (performance,sound,...). With only a K&N filter, is there any improvement in sound?

Thanks.

Short ram intake takes in hot air (lose hp) and improve sound

CAI (cold air intake) intake would improve your sound and performance

Is there a specific intake you are thinking about?

GMetal,

There is a big difference in sound. Check out my video. In the beginning it sounds like 2 cars...but it's only one. It's just that you are hearing the RM Racing intake and JS Racing exhaust kick in at different RPM's...

I have since installed an AEM intake...and it's louder than the RM at high RPM's.

short ram tend to make more midrange and the longer units like the AEM/Injen make more high end power. I`m sure a few members will disagree w/ me but It`s been proven over and over again.

Yup, that's what the guy from Jackson Racing said at his talk at Norm Reeves.
